Dubai strengthened its push to become a global digital leader as H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum praised the emirate’s progress and launched the third edition of the Create Apps Championship.
Sheikh Hamdan said Dubai’s rise as a digital transformation hub reflects the long-term vision of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He noted that the emirate’s growth continues to be shaped by talent development and future-focused solutions that support sustainable progress.

The Create Apps Championship, part of the Create Apps in Dubai initiative under the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, builds on the success of its first two editions. The programme has attracted more than 5,800 applicants and contributed to the launch of over 55 smart applications, reinforcing Dubai’s position as a centre for tech innovation and entrepreneurship.
Sheikh Hamdan said Dubai is advancing its innovation ecosystem by empowering talent and fostering creativity. He added that this effort supports the goals of the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and strengthens the emirate’s role as a global destination for business and investment.
Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence and Chairman of the Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, said the championship has become a world-leading platform that attracts exceptional digital talent and keeps pace with rapid developments in the applications sector.
This year’s edition introduces a Longevity App of the Year award focused on wellbeing and sustainable health. It also launches an Alumni Accelerator Programme aimed at supporting high-potential teams and enabling the development of 50 new market-ready apps.
The competition features four categories and offers funding exceeding AED2.5 million, with top winners receiving up to AED1 million. Registration is now open.
