Dubai Chambers hosted a high-level delegation from North Macedonia on Tuesday, led by the country’s Prime Minister, Dr. Hristijan Mickoski, as part of efforts to deepen bilateral economic ties and expand trade and investment flows.
The delegation was received by Sultan bin Saeed Al Mansoori, Chairman of Dubai Chambers, and Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO. Discussions focused on enhancing cooperation across priority sectors, supporting cross-border business expansion, and unlocking new growth opportunities for companies in both markets.
Al Mansoori highlighted the significance of the visit, describing it as a strategic step towards reinforcing economic collaboration.
“We are committed to supporting Macedonian businesses in leveraging Dubai’s world-class infrastructure, strategic location, and pro-business ecosystem to reach global markets,”
he said.
Talks also covered opportunities for Dubai-based companies to invest in North Macedonia’s diverse sectors, aiming to generate mutual value and promote sustainable growth.
The two sides reviewed key areas of trade, including North Macedonian exports such as electronics, apparel, vehicles, machinery, and agricultural products. Dubai’s exports to North Macedonia include electronics, medical instruments, synthetic fibres, and cosmetics.
Non-oil trade between the two markets reached US$52.2 million in 2024. Both parties expressed intent to build on this figure by tapping into underexplored sectors and strengthening commercial linkages.
The growing footprint of Macedonian businesses in Dubai was also spotlighted. By the end of 2024, 47 North Macedonian companies were active members of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce—a number that rose to 52 in Q1 2025, reflecting a 52% annual growth rate.
The meeting reaffirmed a shared commitment to boosting bilateral trade and investment through continued engagement and private sector collaboration.
