Dubai Chambers, in collaboration with the Dubai Future Foundation, successfully organized a workshop focused on the gaming sector's potential and growth opportunities in Dubai.
The event highlighted strategies to achieve the goals of the Dubai Program for Gaming 2033, an initiative aimed at positioning Dubai among the top 10 global gaming hubs and creating 30,000 new jobs within the industry by 2033.
The workshop brought together key stakeholders from the gaming industry, including game development companies and experts in hardware, AI, and marketing. Discussions centered around boosting the economic value of the gaming sector and enhancing Dubai’s competitiveness on the global stage. Participants explored proposals to drive growth, increase the sector’s contribution to Dubai’s GDP by US$ 1 billion, and solidify the city’s role as a leading destination for gaming and esports.
Maha Al Gargawi, Vice President of Business Advocacy at Dubai Chambers, emphasized the importance of the Dubai Program for Gaming 2033 in achieving a quantum leap for the sector. She highlighted the program’s role in developing Dubai’s global competitiveness and attracting businesses and experts across the gaming industry. She also encouraged companies to join the Dubai Gaming and Esports Group to contribute to this burgeoning sector.
The workshop also underscored the significance of the gaming sector for the upcoming Expand North Star event, the world’s largest gathering of startups and investors, to be held at Dubai Harbour in October. Additionally, the session explored the role of gaming in the ‘App Olympics’ competition, part of the 'Create Apps in Dubai' initiative.
Overall, the workshop provided a platform for stakeholders to discuss Dubai’s gaming landscape, share insights, and explore opportunities for growth and collaboration in this dynamic industry.
