Dubai Chambers moved to deepen economic ties with the United States on Friday, holding high-level talks with a delegation from the US state of Illinois aimed at expanding bilateral trade, investment, and private sector collaboration.

The meeting brought together Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, and a delegation led by Illinois State Senator Seth Lewis. Discussions focused on strengthening cooperation across priority sectors and enhancing participation in business events in both Dubai and the United States.

Lootah said the visit underscored Dubai’s commitment to building long-term economic partnerships with US states and supporting American companies seeking growth and regional expansion from the emirate. He highlighted Dubai’s integrated business ecosystem and its role as a global platform for international trade.

Both sides explored mechanisms to facilitate the flow of business and investment between Dubai and Illinois, while reaffirming Dubai Chambers’ support for US firms entering or expanding in the Dubai market. Opportunities for private sector partnerships and access to investment frameworks were also outlined.

The talks identified strong alignment on global trade, sustainability, and innovation, with shared opportunities in logistics, advanced manufacturing, technology, and sustainable energy. Dubai’s position as a strategic gateway for Illinois exports to Africa and the Middle East and North Africa featured prominently, alongside potential logistics partnerships to strengthen supply chains.

Discussions also covered cooperation in emerging innovation fields, including quantum computing, advanced technologies, renewable energy, and green initiatives.

Trade relations between Dubai and the United States continue to show solid growth, with bilateral non-oil trade reaching AED116.4 billion in 2024, up 10 percent year on year.
