Dubai Chambers hosted a roundtable in partnership with the Consulate General of Canada in Dubai and Inovia Capital, bringing together representatives from 19 Canadian companies to explore new avenues of cooperation in the digital economy.
The event, held in Dubai, drew 52 participants from both markets and highlighted the emirate’s competitive advantages as a global hub for innovation and entrepreneurship. Discussions focused on expanding partnerships in sectors such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, quantum computing, satellite communications, health technology, and venture capital.
Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers, said the growing economic ties between Dubai and Canada provide a strong foundation for collaboration in advanced technologies and future-facing industries. He emphasized that Dubai’s pro-business environment and robust digital infrastructure continue to attract international companies seeking global expansion.
Canadian participation in Dubai’s economy has been rising steadily, with the number of active Canadian firms registered with the Dubai Chamber of Commerce growing by around 30 percent in 2024. In the first half of 2025 alone, 535 new companies joined, bringing the total to 4,434 by June. Canada now ranks tenth among the top non-UAE countries with new companies joining the chamber.
The engagement follows a series of strategic initiatives to deepen bilateral ties. In June, Dubai International Chamber opened its first North American office in Toronto, while Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy led a roadshow across Canadian cities earlier this year to promote opportunities at Expand North Star 2025, the world’s largest startup and investor event, set to take place this month at Dubai Harbour.
