Dubai Chambers has reinforced economic ties with South Korea by hosting the Dubai–Korea Roundtable Discussion, bringing together 25 Korean companies and 14 Dubai-based organisations to explore new avenues of cooperation across diverse industries.
Held in collaboration with the Korea International Trade Association (KITA) and the UAE Embassy in Seoul, the event drew around 60 participants. Discussions focused on opportunities spanning advanced technology, artificial intelligence, fintech, agritech, mobility solutions, energy, construction, and infrastructure, highlighting the broad scope for collaboration between the two markets.
On the sidelines of the roundtable, Dubai Chambers signed a Memorandum of Understanding with KITA to strengthen private-sector investment. The agreement, signed by Saeed Al Gergawi, Vice President of Dubai Chamber of Digital Economy, and Gi-Hyun Kim, Vice President of KITA, aims to enhance cooperation through trade delegation exchanges, joint participation in international events, and improved communication between businesses.
Al Gergawi underscored Dubai’s appeal as a hub for Korean companies of all sizes, particularly in advanced technology sectors. He pointed to the upcoming Expand North Star 2025, the world’s largest startup and investor event, as a key platform for Korean businesses to attract venture capital and forge global partnerships. Scheduled for 12–15 October at Dubai Harbour, the event follows last year’s record participation of 152 Korean companies, more than double the previous year.
The roundtable and MoU mark a significant step in deepening economic cooperation, positioning Dubai as a gateway for Korean enterprises seeking growth in the Middle East and beyond.
