Dubai Chambers has deepened its economic partnership with China by hosting the Dubai–Beijing Business Seminar, bringing together over 130 business leaders and officials from both markets to explore new trade and investment opportunities.
Held at Dubai Chambers’ headquarters in collaboration with the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade – Beijing, the seminar was led by H.E. Sima Hong, Vice Mayor of Beijing, and H.E. Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers. Also in attendance was H.E. Abdullah Ahmed Al Saleh, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Economy and Tourism.
The event aimed to foster bilateral cooperation across key sectors, highlighting Dubai’s strategic position as a gateway for Chinese businesses looking to expand globally. Lootah reaffirmed Dubai Chambers’ commitment to supporting the Chinese business community and advancing collaborative initiatives.
Salem Al Shamsi, Vice President of International Relations at Dubai Chambers, presented an overview of Dubai’s economic landscape, outlining areas of mutual opportunity and key advantages for investors.
Trade between Dubai and China continues to grow, with non-oil bilateral trade reaching AED 296.3 billion in 2024, marking a 19% year-on-year increase. Over 6,000 Chinese companies are now active members of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce.
The seminar builds on momentum from the first international edition of the Dubai Business Forum, held in Beijing in August 2024. That event led to a strategic MoU between Dubai Chambers and the Chinese trade council to reinforce long-term cooperation.
