The Dubai Charity Association, is now receiving donations in cryptocurrencies, through a partnership with a cryptocurrency platform.
Under the partnership, the platform will receive donations in cryptocurrencies and then transfers them to the association’s bank account in the local currency.
Khalid Al Olama, Secretary-General of the Association, said,
Receiving donations in cryptocurrencies is unprecedented in charity work in the UAE, and will help attract donations that will benefit those in need.
Adel Mattar, Board Member at the Association, commended the association’s cooperation with Dubai’s Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department, which is supporting the process for receiving donations in cryptocurrencies.
The next 50 years will see promising opportunities for advancing charity and humanitarian work,
he added.
