Dubai has taken another step toward becoming a global hub for smart transportation with the launch of a sustainable drone delivery route in Nad Al Sheba.
The initiative, led by the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) in collaboration with the Islamic Affairs and Charitable Activities Department (IACAD) and Keeta Drone, aims to redefine urban delivery through advanced aerial logistics.
The new route allows drones to deliver food orders from restaurants and cafés in Nad Al Sheba Avenue Mall directly to residents, with a designated landing point at the Nad Al Sheba Grand Mosque. The project was officially inaugurated by His Excellency Mohammed Abdulla Lengawi, Director General of DCAA, who oversaw the first live drone delivery in the presence of senior government officials.
Lengawi said the initiative reflects Dubai’s leadership in adopting innovative technologies that improve daily life, adding that the city is moving closer to making drone delivery a common service.
His Excellency Ahmed Darwish Al Muhairi, Director General of IACAD, emphasized the importance of collaboration between public and private sectors in supporting Dubai’s smart transformation goals. He noted that selecting the mosque as the delivery point underscores its evolving role in sustainable community development.
Keeta Drone, which already operates four routes in Dubai Silicon Oasis, described the new route as a milestone in expanding eco-friendly, contactless delivery networks across the city. The company’s General Manager, Junwei Yang, highlighted that the initiative showcases Dubai’s vision for smarter, faster, and greener urban living.
Operated under DCAA’s regulatory framework, the project reinforces Dubai’s position at the forefront of integrating innovation with sustainability.
