The Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ports, Customs, and Free Zone Corporation (PCFC) to strengthen collaboration and elevate the performance of Dubai's civil aviation sector.
This strategic partnership underscores the UAE’s commitment to developing advanced infrastructure and a sustainable aviation industry.
The MoU was signed by His Excellency Mohammed Abdulla Lengawi, Director General of DCAA, and His Excellency Nasser Al Neyadi, CEO of PCFC, in the presence of senior officials. The agreement establishes a regulatory framework focusing on drone operations, heliport landing fields, and enhanced data exchange mechanisms.
H.E. Mohammed Abdulla Lengawi emphasized the importance of the collaboration, stating,
“This MoU underscores our commitment to advancing aviation safety, innovation, and sustainability. It is a vital step towards reinforcing Dubai’s position as a global aviation leader.”
H.E. Nasser Al Neyadi added,
“This partnership enhances our operational capabilities and aligns with Dubai’s vision of becoming a global hub for innovation and sustainability in aviation and logistics.”
The agreement includes regulating drone operations by defining permissible geographic zones and issuing permits while ensuring compliance with global safety standards. It also addresses the certification and inspection of PCFC-owned heliports. Furthermore, the MoU outlines provisions for secure electronic integration and data exchange, paving the way for uninterrupted service delivery.
This collaboration highlights the UAE's vision for a thriving aviation landscape, ensuring operational efficiency, innovation, and sustainability, while cementing Dubai’s status as a global aviation hub.
