Previously ranked at 29th place in 2021, Dubai has now made a significant leap to join the ranks of global cities such as Berlin, Chicago, and Stockholm in the latest Innovative Cities Index for 2023.
Dubai has secured the top spot among Middle East and North Africa cities, and holds the 14th position globally in the Innovative Cities Index for 2023, as revealed by the Australian To Think Now Foundation, renowned for its expertise in innovation research and studies.
This announcement was made by the Dubai Media Office through their official Twitter account on Wednesday.

Dubai has experienced a remarkable rise in its global ranking on the Innovative Cities Index, climbing up by 15 positions from its previous placement at 29th globally in 2021.
Dubai achieved an impressive score of 52 out of 60 points on the Innovative Cities Index, coming within a close margin of only eight points from Tokyo, which claimed the top spot. Similarly, Berlin, Chicago, and Stockholm also attained a score of 52, placing them on par with Dubai in terms of innovation excellence.
The top ten positions on this year's index were dominated by Tokyo in Japan, London in the UK, New York in the US, Paris in France, Singapore in Southeast Asia, Los Angeles in California, Boston in the US, Seoul in South Korea, San Francisco, and Houston in the US, in that order.
According to the report, Dubai outperformed other prominent global cities such as Toronto, Munich, Vienna, Sydney, Madrid, Amsterdam, Seattle, Dallas-Fort Worth, Melbourne, Montreal, Atlanta, Barcelona, Milan, Beijing, Vancouver, Copenhagen, Miami, and Washington, D.C., which were ranked 15th to 32nd, respectively.
