Dubai has been ranked the world's leading FinTech hub by industry professionals in the latest Global Financial Centres Index, cementing its status as the only financial centre from the Middle East, Africa and South Asia region to feature in the global top ten.
The ranking reflects sustained confidence in Dubai International Financial Centre's push to shape the future of finance. Beyond its FinTech win, Dubai also climbed to second place worldwide for Professional Services and moved up to sixth for global reputation. The emirate held onto first place for future potential too, a category it has now topped for four consecutive editions of the report.
The GFCI is compiled by London-based consultancy Z/Yen alongside the China Development Institute. This edition drew on 39,531 assessments from financial professionals around the world combined with 143 instrumental factors covering areas such as infrastructure, human capital and regulation.
Essa Kazim, Governor of DIFC, said the results reinforce Dubai's standing as a leading global financial centre and reflect the progress made under the Dubai Economic Agenda D33. He credited DIFC with drawing major financial institutions, talent and innovation to the emirate while building the regulatory and business environment needed to sustain that growth.
Arif Amiri, CEO of DIFC Authority, pointed to the scale and breadth of DIFC's ecosystem as a key driver behind the ranking. As the region's largest hub for regulated financial firms, spanning banking, capital markets, wealth and asset management, insurance and FinTech, DIFC offers what he described as a unique platform for innovation and collaboration.
Amiri added that this diversity positions Dubai to keep advancing financial services, speeding up adoption of emerging technologies and helping steer the direction of global finance in the years ahead.
