Dubai has reached a new milestone in global finance, climbing to seventh place in the latest Global Financial Centres Index, its highest ranking to date.
The achievement reinforces the emirate’s growing influence as a leading international financial hub and highlights its accelerating momentum on the global stage.
The ranking places Dubai among top financial centres such as London, New York City and Singapore, making it the only city from the Middle East, Africa and South Asia region to feature in the top 20. It also marks the highest position ever achieved by a financial centre from the region.
The result aligns with Dubai’s long-term strategy under the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to position the emirate among the world’s top four financial centres by 2033. Officials say the rise reflects strong international confidence in Dubai’s economic vision and financial ecosystem.
A key driver behind this progress is the Dubai International Financial Centre, which continues to expand its global footprint. The district now hosts over 9,000 active companies and a workforce exceeding 50,000, including major banks, asset managers and technology firms.
Dubai’s performance also improved across multiple sectors, with top 10 rankings in finance, investment management and insurance, and top five positions in fintech, professional services and trading. It is also recognised among the top 10 globally for business environment, infrastructure and human capital.
Produced by London-based Z/Yen Group, the index evaluates 137 financial centres using extensive industry data and global assessments.
As Dubai strengthens its role as a bridge between East and West, the latest ranking signals sustained growth and positions the emirate firmly on track to achieve its global financial ambitions.
