Dubai CommerCity, the region’s first free zone dedicated exclusively to digital commerce, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with global e-commerce giant eBay.

This strategic collaboration aims to enhance the business growth of companies operating within Dubai CommerCity by expanding their reach through eBay’s global online marketplaces.

The MoU was signed during a ceremony at Dubai CommerCity headquarters by Abdulrahman Shaheen, Executive Vice President of Operations at Dubai CommerCity, and Ashish Chhabra, Vice President and General Manager of Global Verticals at eBay, in the presence of officials from both organizations.

Shaheen highlighted the importance of the partnership in empowering companies in Dubai CommerCity by giving them access to over 190 global markets.

“This collaboration will unlock new growth and investment opportunities, driving business success in the region,”

he said.

Chhabra emphasized eBay’s commitment to supporting local retailers in the UAE by connecting them with 132 million active buyers worldwide. He noted the agreement would help companies expand their offerings, particularly in high-demand categories like auto parts and luxury goods.

Through this collaboration, Dubai CommerCity businesses will receive specialized training, seminars, and a complimentary three-month eBay Basic store subscription. Dubai CommerCity will also support eBay by organizing educational workshops and providing infrastructure to facilitate e-commerce growth.

This partnership marks a significant step in reshaping the digital commerce landscape, enabling companies in Dubai to scale globally.
