Dubai CommerCity (DCC), the region’s premier free zone for digital commerce, has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Aramex and QuikBot Technologies to trial QuikBot’s Autonomous Final-Mile Delivery (AFMD) platform.
The signing, witnessed by high-ranking officials including H.E. Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni, Executive Chairman of DIEZ, took place during the WORLDEF Dubai 2024 forum at DCC.
The collaboration aligns with Dubai’s Robotics and Automation Program, launched by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. This initiative aims to position Dubai among the top 10 cities globally in robotics and automation, enhancing efficiency across logistics, service, and industrial sectors while strengthening the emirate's economic competitiveness.
During the trial, autonomous robots will facilitate last-mile delivery across DCC facilities, with designated areas allocated for parking and charging. Aramex will use its DCC outlet as a pickup and drop-off hub, while QuikBot Technologies will provide and manage the robots, as well as offer technical and engineering support.
Amna Lootah, Board Member of DCC, stated,
“This partnership underpins our commitment to adopting cutting-edge technologies that enhance operational efficiency and further cement DCC’s status as a leading hub for digital commerce.”
