Dubai’s Community Development Authority (CDA) has launched the Community Majlis Consultant initiative, a platform designed to provide residents with safe spaces for dialogue, guidance, and support, reinforcing the city’s vision of building a cohesive and inclusive society.
Part of the Year of Community 2025 campaign and the Dubai Social Agenda 33, the initiative reimagines the traditional Emirati majlis as a modern hub for open conversation. It brings together licensed psychological and social specialists to offer professional advice on life challenges, while emphasizing that the sessions focus on guidance rather than treatment.
The CDA said the program aims to equip individuals and families with practical tools to strengthen relationships, cope with stress, and make informed decisions. Topics will include parenting approaches, children’s personality development, marital wellbeing, psychological disorders, and chronic illness management.
Reem Obaid Al Awabed, Director of Social Programs at the CDA, said the initiative reflects a belief that “every individual in society deserves to be heard and supported” and that open, knowledge-based dialogue is key to building stable families and stronger communities.
By creating interactive spaces for sharing experiences and acquiring skills, the CDA hopes to enhance self-awareness, reinforce family bonds, and foster solidarity across neighborhoods. The authority highlighted that the initiative is not limited to formal counselling but is intended as a human-centered environment where concerns can be expressed in privacy and respect.
Through this effort, the CDA seeks to turn challenges into opportunities for growth, reaffirming Dubai’s commitment to wellbeing, stability, and community cohesion as cornerstones of its social fabric.
