Dubai is set to host a major global festival celebrating People of Determination after the Community Development Authority signed a Memorandum of Understanding with P.O.D.FEST Global to bring the internationally recognised event to the emirate in January 2027.

The agreement aims to strengthen Dubai’s efforts to build a more inclusive society by creating opportunities for People of Determination in employment, innovation, education, and creative expression. The first edition of the festival will take place in Dubai during the first week of January 2027, with the venue to be announced later.

The initiative supports the goals of the Dubai Social Agenda 33 launched by Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai. The agenda focuses on developing a cohesive and future ready society while improving the quality of life and participation of People of Determination across economic and social sectors.

Officials said the festival will translate the concept of inclusion into practical action through interactive platforms and partnerships with global businesses and community stakeholders.

The event will feature several dedicated zones including an Innovation Expo showcasing assistive technologies, an Employment Zone connecting job seekers with inclusive employers, and an Education Zone promoting lifelong learning. The programme will also include an Adaptive Sports Arena and a Talent Stage designed to highlight creative abilities.

A philanthropic component will aim to distribute thousands of assistive devices to People of Determination while organisers also plan to pursue a new Guinness World Record during the event.

Under the agreement, the Community Development Authority will provide strategic oversight to ensure the festival aligns with national priorities while supporting knowledge transfer and best practices in accessibility and inclusive event management. The collaboration is expected to leave a lasting social impact beyond the event itself.
