Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture), in collaboration with L'ÉCOLE Middle East, School of Jewelry Arts, and supported by Van Cleef & Arpels, has successfully wrapped up the first-ever ‘Talent Atelier’ programme.
The initiative, launched under the ‘Dubai Culture Grant,’ aimed to nurture Emirati talent in jewelry design, refine their craftsmanship, and deepen their understanding of the art form, reinforcing Dubai’s global standing as a cultural and creative hub.
The programme concluded with a completion ceremony at L’ÉCOLE France & Europe’s Hôtel de Mercy-Argenteau campus in Paris. The event was attended by UAE Ambassador to France, His Excellency Fahad Al Raqabani, and Dubai Culture representatives, including Dr. Saeed Mubarak bin Kharbash, CEO of the Arts, Design, and Literature Sector.
Six Emirati designers – Alia Ghubash, Al Zaina Lootah, Hamda Al Awadhi, Majdeh Al Awadi, Sara Al Khaled, and Suad Al Fardan – participated in this transformative journey. Following initial training in Dubai, the designers embarked on an intensive five-day programme in Paris. They explored topics such as Art Nouveau, gemology, and traditional Japanese Urushi lacquer, while gaining insights into the historical significance of pearls from the Arabian Gulf through the exhibition Paris, City of Pearls.
Her Excellency Hala Badri, Director General of Dubai Culture, highlighted the initiative’s role in empowering young creatives, stating,
“The programme embodies Dubai Culture’s commitment to nurturing talent and enriching the cultural landscape.”
The programme also reflects L'ÉCOLE Middle East’s dedication to education with social impact, as proceeds from its courses support Dubai Cares’ youth education initiatives.
The ‘Talent Atelier’ underscores Dubai Culture’s mission to cultivate a vibrant cultural ecosystem and elevate Emirati designers on the global stage.
