Dubai Culture and Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has announced the open call for the 13th edition of the Sikka Art & Design Festival, under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Latifa bint Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairperson of Dubai Culture. The festival will take place from January 31 to February 9, 2025, at the Al Shindagha Historic Neighbourhood.

Dubai Culture invites Emirati, UAE, and GCC-based artists, creatives, and designers to showcase their works in visual arts, painting, sculpture, photography, design, murals, multimedia, culinary art, and more. The festival will feature interactive workshops, musical and cinematic performances, talks, and panel discussions aimed at enriching the local cultural movement and supporting global art trends.

Applications will be accepted from August 8 to October 8. A committee of experts and artists will review submissions and select the works for the festival, which is part of the Sikka Platform. The open call is directed at both established and emerging artists, whether working individually or in groups.

Participants are encouraged to present unique ideas that reflect their perspectives and the richness of the local art scene. They must use environmentally friendly materials and ensure that their works are original, recent, and not previously displayed in other festivals or events. Details and the application form can be found on the Dubai Culture website.

The Sikka Art & Design Festival aims to provide an innovative platform that celebrates leading and emerging talent, aligning with Dubai's cultural vision to become a global centre for culture, creativity, and talent.

The 12th edition of the festival attracted over 162,000 visitors who engaged with a variety of artistic and entertainment performances, workshops, and discussions. The event featured over 500 Emirati and GCC-based artists showcasing around 300 artworks across 14 houses.
