Dubai Culture Launches 4th Edition of Hatta Cultural Nights
The Dubai Culture & Arts Authority (Dubai Culture) has announced the fourth edition of Hatta Cultural Nights, a celebration of the region’s cultural and heritage experiences. Scheduled to take place at the Hatta Heritage Village from December 22, 2024, to January 1, 2025, the event aims to highlight Hatta's unique traditions and historical features, enhancing its position as a key tourist destination. This initiative aligns with the Hatta Master Development Plan launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aiming to transform Hatta into a hub for business, investment, and tourism.
The programme includes a diverse range of heritage activities and artistic performances, such as traditional folklore dances (Al Harbiya, Al Ayala, and Al Azi), poetry evenings, and live music sessions featuring instruments like the Rababa and Oud. Additional attractions include interactive drum performances, bubble shows, and workshops on traditional crafts such as Talli embroidery, Sadu weaving, Burqa sewing, and palm frond weaving.
Visitors can also enjoy classic car displays, motorbike tours, and educational workshops on Arabic calligraphy and astronomy. A dedicated section for children offers traditional games, ensuring a family-friendly experience. The event will feature a traditional market showcasing local entrepreneurs and artisans, providing a platform for creative talents to present their work and support Dubai’s creative industries.
Mariam Dhain Al Tamimi, Acting Director of the Heritage Sites Department at Dubai Culture, emphasized the significance of the initiative, stating that Hatta Cultural Nights empowers the local community and promotes its cultural identity. This event, part of the Hatta Winter Festival under the Dubai Destinations campaign, reflects Dubai Culture’s commitment to preserving heritage, safeguarding national identity, and supporting Hatta’s cultural and economic development.
