In an exciting initiative for the academic year 2024-2025, Dubai Customs, in collaboration with DP World, has welcomed 32 Emirati participants from its inaugural scholarship cohort.
This follows their successful completion of stringent criteria for specialized academic programmes, aimed at nurturing talent in logistics and customs.
After receiving over 500 applications and conducting interviews for around 100 candidates, the selection process culminated in the acceptance of these 32 promising individuals. The programmes are designed to provide comprehensive training in business management, international trade, logistics services, and supply chain management, equipping students for rewarding careers in these vital sectors.
Sultan bin Sulayem, Chairman & CEO of DP World, expressed pride in the interest shown by Emirati youth, emphasizing the importance of Emiratisation for the nation’s economic and social advancement.
“These programmes empower young people to showcase their skills and prepare for the workforce, contributing significantly to our strategic Emiratisation goals,”
he stated.
Dr. Abdulla Mohammed Busenad, Director General of Dubai Customs, commended the participants, urging them to pursue academic excellence and broaden their knowledge to enhance their professional capabilities. He affirmed the department's commitment to developing citizens’ academic skills through specialized training in customs, logistics, and economic sectors.
The scholarship offerings include a Bachelor’s degree in Global Trade, Customs, and Logistics, as well as a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Digital Commerce, and Supply Chain Management. Mohammed Al Ghaffari, Executive Director of Human Resources Division at Dubai Customs, congratulated the scholarship recipients, highlighting the agency's dedication to fostering future leaders in various sectors.
