Dubai Customs Hosts 'Future and Impactful Innovations Forum'

Dubai Customs hosted the "Future and Impactful Innovations Forum" as part of the UAE Innovates 2025 initiative, gathering leading experts to discuss advancements in future forecasting and institutional innovation.

The event, held at the Queen Elizabeth 2 Hotel at Port Rashid, emphasized the vital role of innovation in sustainable development and strengthening the UAE's global competitiveness.

Mohammed Al Ghaffari, Executive Director of Dubai Customs' Human Resources Division, delivered a keynote speech focusing on the importance of fostering innovation and investing in creative talent. He highlighted how Dubai Customs has leveraged innovation to streamline operations, positioning the department as a global leader in the customs industry. Al Ghaffari underscored that embracing smart solutions is essential for addressing technological, economic, and social transformations while enhancing customer service and operational efficiency.

Khalid Al Zarooni, Head of the Innovation Centre, stressed the importance of strategic thinking and future foresight in driving institutional transformation. He emphasized that innovation must be viewed as a proactive tool to anticipate and shape the future, guiding decisions today for tomorrow's results.

Dr. Issa Al Bastaki, President of Dubai University, spoke on the impact of digital transformation, stressing the integration of technologies like AI and the Internet of Things to secure a competitive and sustainable future.

The forum also celebrated the "Ambassadors of the Future," graduates of a global certification program in future foresight, and showcased seven future-oriented initiatives. These initiatives covered diverse sectors, from economics to security, contributing to Dubai Customs' vision for continued innovation.

The event concluded with discussions on digital transformation efforts within the customs sector, focusing on tools like the risk engine and digital warehouse platform to enhance efficiency and sustainability.
