Dubai Customs launches Smart Tasks platform to support work from home system

Dubai customs launched the Smart Tasks platform to support the work from home system in fulfilment of the commitments and objectives of the next fifty years, and to boost employees’ productivity. HE Ahmed Mahboob Musabih, Director General of Dubai Customs and executive directors and heads of departments attended the launch ceremony via video conferencing.

The Smart Tasks platform helps employees manage their time and tasks efficiently. It is fully integrated and connected with the Dubai Customs internal systems.

“The vast changes the world witnessed during the spread of the pandemic has necessitated the need to think differently and smartly in response to the crisis. Within Dubai Government’s vision to advance the government systems, and following the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai we have launched this new platform. This will help our work systems have more resilience in the face of any future challenges. Technology now is playing a vital role in facilitating business. We have completed 16m transactions in 2020 thanks to our advanced technological infrastructure,” said Musabih.

The new platform will help the employees focus more on their tasks and do them more efficiently while maintaining quality work.

On his part, Juma Al Ghaith, Executive Director of Customs Development Division atDubai Customs said:

“The Smart Tasks Platform will serve 250 employees in its first phase, and will gradually increase to cover more. The new platform will help employees manage their time, and this will boost their productivity and improve their skills.”

Mohammed Al Ghaffari, Acting Executive Director, Human Resources, Finance and Administration Division at Dubai Customs said:

“As part of our efforts to empower human resources to cope with changes and strengthen Dubai government’s leading position, we have launched the Smart Tasks platform. We have chosen it from among 19 solutions, and we are confident it is the best solution that meets our needs and aspirations. We tested the platform on a selected group of employees, and it proved to be very efficient in managing work from home system.”
