Dubai Customs has introduced “Al Munasiq,” an advanced AI-powered platform designed to transform the classification of goods under the Harmonised System (HS) Code.
This initiative aligns with Dubai’s strategy to accelerate artificial intelligence (AI) adoption, launched by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.
The platform enhances the accuracy, efficiency, and speed of customs procedures by leveraging AI to streamline operations. Users can search for goods information—including descriptions, customs duty rates, and restriction status—via text input, voice commands, or image uploads.
Dr. Abdulla Busenad, Director-General of Dubai Customs, emphasized that the organization continuously invests in AI and cutting-edge technology to enhance performance, boost productivity, and improve service quality. This aligns with directives from His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, to position Dubai as a global leader in AI adoption and economic innovation.
Juma Al Ghaith, Executive Director of AI at Dubai Customs, highlighted the commitment to developing AI-driven customs solutions that optimize efficiency and enhance Dubai’s global competitiveness.
The “Al Munasiq” app offers key features such as search history, a favorites list, and the ability to save and share classification results. It also provides insights into free trade agreements applicable to specific HS codes. The application is available on the App Store, Google Play, Huawei AppGallery, and an online portal (almunasiq.dubaicustoms.gov.ae).
With this launch, Dubai Customs reinforces its position as a global leader in digital customs services, strengthening Dubai’s status as a premier hub for trade and innovation.
