Dubai's Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) has announced a strategic partnership with Dubai Basketball, becoming one of the club’s founding sponsors.
This collaboration aims to enhance Dubai’s standing as a global hub for sports, events, and entertainment while promoting basketball within the emirate.
As part of the partnership, DET will support Dubai Basketball’s growth by engaging players and fans alike. The Dubai logo and VisitDubai.com website will now feature on the team’s jerseys and be prominently displayed at Coca-Cola Arena during home games. Additionally, Dubai’s international visibility will expand through the club’s home and away fixtures, reinforcing the emirate’s appeal as a top travel destination.
Dubai Basketball has made history this season as the first Middle Eastern team to compete in Europe’s ABA League. Facing elite teams from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovenia, Serbia, and Montenegro, the club’s participation not only enhances its competitive profile but also provides an opportunity for international fans to visit Dubai, enjoy high-quality basketball, and explore the city’s diverse offerings.
Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of Dubai Festivals and Retail Establishment (DFRE), part of DET, emphasized the significance of this partnership, stating,
“This collaboration strengthens Dubai’s reputation as a premier destination for world-class events while supporting the sport’s local growth. It aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33, further solidifying the emirate’s global appeal.”
