The Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) has announced a groundbreaking partnership with noon, a leading local digital platform, to launch an e-commerce programme aimed at empowering small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Dubai.

This initiative, part of the broader Dubai Traders initiative, is aligned with the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33, and reflects the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to enhance Dubai’s role as a global hub for entrepreneurship.

The Dubai Traders programme is designed to support SMEs in building a robust online presence, digitizing their supply chains, and accessing e-commerce channels. By collaborating with leading digital solution providers, the initiative will offer SMEs a range of tools, incentives, and support to thrive in the digital marketplace.

The partnership was formalized in a signing ceremony attended by Helal Saeed Almarri, Director-General of DET, and Mohamed Alabbar, Founder of noon. The agreement was signed by Hadi Badri, CEO of Dubai Economic Development Corporation (DEDC), and Faraz Khalid, CEO of noon.

Initially focusing on e-commerce, the programme will provide SMEs with a comprehensive suite of benefits, including onboarding support, training, increased visibility through advertising credits, and rapid delivery options via noon’s quick-commerce platform. Emirati sellers will also gain access to personalized support through noon’s Mahali programme.

Hadi Badri emphasized the critical role of SMEs in Dubai’s economic growth and highlighted the programme's goal to unlock the digital potential of local businesses. Faraz Khalid echoed this sentiment, expressing pride in contributing to Dubai’s vibrant e-commerce environment.

This collaboration underscores the effective synergy between government and private sectors in Dubai, aiming to foster innovation and expand the digital economy through the Dubai Traders initiative and the broader D33 agenda.
