Dubai’s economy surged 4.4 percent in the first half of 2025 to reach AED241 billion, surpassing projections and reinforcing its position as one of the world’s most dynamic and resilient urban economies.
In the second quarter alone, GDP climbed 4.7 percent to AED122 billion, supported by strong growth across key sectors.
His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, said the performance reflects the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the success of long-term strategies under the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33. He noted that every percentage point of growth represents collaboration across sectors and Dubai’s ability to turn challenges into opportunities.
The human health and social work sector led the expansion with a 20 percent increase, contributing 1.4 percent to overall GDP growth. The construction sector followed with 8.5 percent growth, contributing 6.7 percent to GDP, driven by increased development spending. Real estate, financial services, and tourism also recorded solid gains, underscoring Dubai’s economic diversity and investment appeal.
Helal Saeed Almarri, Director-General of the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, highlighted that the results demonstrate Dubai’s adaptability to global shifts and the strength of its public-private partnerships. He reaffirmed the emirate’s focus on building a future-ready, knowledge-driven economy that continues to attract global talent and investment.
Officials from Digital Dubai and the Dubai Economic Development Corporation said the results reflect Dubai’s commitment to innovation, technology, and data-driven policy-making, positioning the city firmly on track toward the D33 goal of doubling the economy and ranking among the world’s top three urban economies within the next decade.
