The Dubai Electronic Security Center convened a specialised international session on the second day of GISEC Global 2026, bringing together members of the International Coalition for Cybersecurity Workforce to deepen global cooperation on building cybersecurity talent.

The gathering centred on aligning cybersecurity skills frameworks, professional standards and career pathways across borders, giving coalition members a platform to share expertise and compare notes on workforce development strategies.

Bushra Al Blooshi, Executive Director of Cybersecurity Governance and Risk Management at DESC, opened proceedings with a keynote outlining the coalition's progress and its growing role in coordinating cybersecurity workforce development on an international scale.

The session also marked the official launch of the ICCSW website alongside its first batch of reports and policy papers, making the coalition's research and guidance publicly accessible for the first time.

Al Blooshi told attendees that building cybersecurity capabilities is no longer a task any single country can tackle alone. She said the coalition's mission is to forge practical links between existing frameworks, standards and career pathways, fostering stronger knowledge sharing and more robust cybersecurity capacity worldwide.

Delegates used the session to explore how national cybersecurity skills frameworks could be better aligned and converted into real-world workforce capabilities, with a particular focus on harmonising terminology and professional competency benchmarks across different markets.

The discussion forms part of a broader ICCSW push to strengthen cross-border collaboration and create shared reference points that support governments, employers, universities, training providers and cybersecurity professionals as the sector continues to evolve.
