His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has issued a law establishing the Dubai Centre for Judicial Expertise as a public institution affiliated with the Judicial Council.
The new body aims to strengthen the role of expert testimony in court proceedings and ensure efficiency in line with international standards.
The Centre will provide judicial authorities with access to qualified experts from within the UAE and abroad, improving the quality and accuracy of technical reports used in court cases. It will also contribute to faster case resolution and support the development of national expertise across specialised fields.
Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Judicial Council, said the Centre represents a significant step in reinforcing trust in the emirate’s judiciary, expediting litigation procedures, and upholding transparency and integrity.
According to Dubai Courts Director General Dr. Saif Ghanem Al Suwaidi, the Centre will standardise procedures, integrate advanced technology, and attract distinguished experts to serve the justice system. The law also outlines the creation of a Board of Directors and a Steering Committee to manage the transition of competencies and resources.
The initiative underscores Dubai’s commitment to judicial innovation and its broader vision of positioning the emirate as a global hub for justice, investment, and quality of life.
