H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum witnessed the signing of a new partnership to develop Hewi Al Barsha and Hewi Muhaisnah, marking a significant step in the expansion of the Hewi Dubai initiative aimed at strengthening neighbourhood life across the emirate.
The agreement brings together Dubai Municipality, the General Construction Company, and Binghatti to deliver new community destinations that enhance social connection, local identity, and quality of life. It aligns with Dubai’s wider urban and social development strategy, which places people-centric design at the heart of city planning.
The partnership was formalised by Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director-General of Dubai Municipality; Hamad Ali Saif Lootah, Chairman of the General Construction Company; and Abdullah Binghatti, Head of Sales at Binghatti, in the presence of senior officials from all three entities.
Dubai Municipality said the collaboration reflects its commitment to a development model that combines public and private sector expertise to meet the evolving needs of residents. The Municipality also confirmed it remains open to engaging additional investors and developers for future Hewi Dubai sites across the city.
Bin Ghalita noted that the new projects build on the success of the first Hewi Dubai phase in Nad Al Sheba 4, which reintroduced the traditional hewi as a modern community courtyard rooted in Emirati culture. He said the goal is to transform neighbourhood spaces into inclusive environments that encourage interaction and cohesion through thoughtful design aligned with global standards and local values.
Binghatti said the initiative supports Dubai’s vision for vibrant, connected communities that preserve the spirit of the Emirati fareej while promoting healthy and sustainable lifestyles.
Developed in collaboration with the Dubai Future Foundation, Hewi Dubai focuses on creating welcoming spaces for families, children, and senior citizens, reinforcing Dubai’s position as a global benchmark for urban liveability.
