The Dubai Films and Games Commission has successfully concluded its week-long Talent Development Programme, equipping emerging creatives with the skills to produce internationally competitive film and television content.

Delivered in partnership with the UK’s National Film and Television School and Prime Video, the initiative aimed to strengthen Dubai’s creative talent pipeline and foster global collaboration.

The programme brought together writers and producers to transform original ideas into industry-ready scripted television projects. Through masterclasses, workshops, one-on-one mentoring, and pitching sessions, participants gained hands-on experience in story and character development, project packaging, marketing strategies, and international co-production models.

Ayesha bin Kalli, Head of Talent Development at the commission, emphasized the programme’s role in preparing Dubai-based creatives for global markets. She noted that the initiative combined practical training with exposure to international industry standards, helping participants refine their projects and advance their professional journeys.

In addition to project development, participants attended a panel discussion exploring the future of series production in the MENA region. The session featured Marouane Burrour, Senior Content Acquisition Manager for MENA and Turkey at Prime Video; Jonathan Lewsley, Senior Sales Executive for Prime Video International Originals; and Nawaf Al Janahi, filmmaker and founder of Blackbox Cinema and Cineolio.

Through collaborations with leading global institutions, the Dubai Films and Games Commission continues to support a competitive creative ecosystem, positioning Dubai as a hub for film, television, and content creation. The programme reflects the city’s commitment to nurturing talent capable of producing stories that resonate across borders.
