Dubai Finance (DOF) has partnered with the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) to launch a Certificate in Public Finance Management (PFM) aimed at advancing the skills of accountants and finance professionals within Dubai’s government entities.
Through this Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), the ACCA will provide comprehensive training in both Arabic and English to equip professionals with essential knowledge and best practices in public financial management.
The MoU was signed by Aref Abdulrahman Ahli, DOF’s Executive Director of the Planning and General Budget Sector, and Magdalena Krupa-Hernandez, EEMA Director at ACCA.
Mr. Ahli expressed that the Certificate in PFM is aligned with Dubai’s vision of enhancing government financial expertise, enabling public finance teams to manage resources effectively.
Ms. Krupa-Hernandez highlighted the value of this initiative in fostering professional growth among public sector finance experts.
"The ACCA Certificate in Public Financial Management offers essential skills for managing public finances efficiently, contributing to the broader efficiency of Dubai's public financial framework,” she stated.
Amna Salem Al Jaberi, DOF’s Director of Financial Studies Division, noted that the program aims to train 100 finance professionals over five cohorts, each comprising 20 participants. Spanning from October to December 2024, the program includes 50 days of training and 250 hours of coursework, focused on elevating participants' expertise in public financial management.
This initiative underscores DOF's commitment to maintaining high standards in government financial practices and aligns with Dubai's strategic focus on excellence in governance and fiscal responsibility.
