Dubai Fitness Challenge 2024: Inspiring a Healthier, More Active Community
Dubai Fitness Challenge (DFC) 2024, the eighth annual edition, is in full swing, engaging residents and visitors to complete 30 minutes of daily exercise for 30 days.
Established by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the initiative aims to inspire Dubai’s community toward a healthier lifestyle.
Organised by Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism (DET) and Dubai Sports Council, this year’s DFC has seen remarkable collaboration from a vast network of partners, including presenting sponsors DP World, Dubai Municipality, Mai Dubai, and RTA. They join forces with other supporters such as Emirates, dubizzle, Decathlon, Dubai Chambers, and Supercare Pharmacy, among many others, in making fitness accessible citywide.
Since its inception in 2017, DFC has grown tremendously, with a 206% increase in enrolment. Last year, the Challenge saw a record 2.4 million participants, emphasizing Dubai’s commitment to wellness. This year’s highlights include popular events like Dubai Ride and Dubai Run, alongside three fitness villages and 25 community hubs across the city offering free fitness activities, classes, and challenges.
“We are proud to engage the community in this collective pursuit of wellness,”
said His Excellency Saeed Hareb, Secretary General of Dubai Sports Council.
Echoing this, Ahmed Al Khaja, CEO of DFRE, remarked,
“DFC has become the largest global fitness initiative of its kind, accessible and completely free for all.”
