Dubai Future Forum 2024 Calls for Bold Thinking to Tackle Global Challenges

The Dubai Future Forum 2024 concluded its third edition with a powerful message: outdated paradigms must be replaced by innovative solutions to address today’s interconnected global crises.

Recognized as the largest gathering of futurists, the event hosted over 2,500 experts from 100 countries, including representatives from 100 international organizations.

His Excellency Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of the Dubai Future Foundation, emphasized the unprecedented pace of change, describing the coming year as “a series of era-defining moments.” Echoing this urgency, experimental philosopher Jonathan Keats urged the need for “outside perspectives,” highlighting the value of both historical and future insights in solving present challenges.

Visionary contributions came from film director Liam Young, who called for abandoning obsolete solutions, and Dr. Adriana Marais, who celebrated humanity’s capacity to expand beyond Earth. Sara Sabry, the first Arab and African female astronaut, inspired attendees with her message on ambition and belief:

“Opportunities grow when we dream about the impossible.”

The forum also spotlighted advancements in space exploration, announcing the winners of the 2024 Andromeda Research Program Competition. Teams from India, Egypt, Nigeria, and Botswana tackled critical challenges like radiation protection and sustainable life support systems for interplanetary missions.

With 70 sessions featuring 150 prominent speakers, the agenda explored themes like Futuring Nature, Optimising Health, and Empowering Generations. Beyond discussions, city-wide activations such as film screenings and interactive exhibitions engaged the public, blending art, science, and technology.

The Dubai Future Forum 2024 not only charted transformative paths for the future but also fostered community engagement, solidifying its role as a beacon of forward-thinking innovation.
