Dubai Future Foundation (DFF) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with China’s National Innovation Center par Excellence (NICE) to drive technological adoption and bolster industrial innovation.
The agreement, inked during the SuperBridge Summit 2024 in Dubai, aims to enhance Dubai’s global standing in research and development (R&D) while attracting investments and facilitating private sector participation in the UAE.
This strategic partnership, signed by Abdulaziz AlJaziri, Deputy CEO of DFF, and Dr. Qing Liu, Director of NICE, focuses on establishing collaborative frameworks for knowledge transfer, talent empowerment, and mutual market access. By doing so, the MoU seeks to build essential research infrastructure for future industrial clusters, paving the way for growth in Dubai's knowledge-based, technology-driven economy.
AlJaziri highlighted the significance of international collaboration in shaping Dubai’s innovation landscape, stating,
“Our partnership with NICE marks a significant step in defining the future of R&D. By fostering a talent-driven ecosystem, we are positioning Dubai as a global leader in innovation, unlocking new growth opportunities and redefining what's possible in a dynamic economy."
Dr. Qing Liu echoed this sentiment, emphasizing the unique advantages Dubai offers as a pro-business, talent-friendly hub.
"Through our strategic collaboration with DFF, we aim to strengthen R&D in Dubai, contributing to long-term economic transformation and positioning the city as a central innovation hub regionally and globally,"
he said.
This initiative supports Dubai’s ambition to lead in industrial innovation, harnessing a research-led model for sustained economic growth and technological advancement.
