Dubai Future Foundation Launches 'Lead and Design Programme' to Empower Emirati Talent
The Dubai Future Foundation has unveiled the “Lead and Design Programme,” a key component of the ‘Design Gov’ initiative, aimed at enhancing Emirati talent with advanced skills in government service innovation.
This initiative marks a significant step in preparing government employees to shape the future of public services.
The programme will involve 40 government employees from 25 entities over a 14-week period. It focuses on fostering a culture of creative design and proactive planning within the UAE’s government, equipping participants with leadership skills and tools for human-centered design. This initiative is crucial for developing high-impact services across various sectors, including media, housing, tourism, and more.
Commencing with an introductory day and a leadership immersion in Amsterdam, the programme integrates both theoretical and practical training. It includes a blend of virtual and in-person workshops, aimed at refining skills and transforming innovative ideas into actionable projects. Participants will face real-world design challenges, culminating in a three-day event in December 2024, where they will present their projects aimed at driving positive future transformations.
The programme, developed in collaboration with various UAE government bodies and global knowledge centers, seeks to adopt cutting-edge global practices and strategies to advance government operations. Launched in 2019, the ‘Design Gov’ initiative promotes a design-centric culture to achieve the UAE Centennial 2071 goals, focusing on human-centered policies and programmes.
This initiative underscores Dubai’s commitment to leading in human-centered government design, ensuring services that enhance quality of life and solidify the UAE’s position as a global leader in innovative governance.
