Dubai’s premier team sports tournament, DUBAI GAMES 2025, officially launched today at Dubai Festival City under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai.

Now in its sixth edition, the championship showcases intense competition across multiple categories, reinforcing Dubai’s reputation as a global sporting hub.

The tournament, which runs until 23 February, is organized in partnership with DP World, with DAMAC and Emarat as diamond sponsors, and in collaboration with the Dubai Sports Council.

Thrilling Start to the Battle of the Government

Day 1 featured fierce contests in the Battle of the Government – Women, with 26 teams displaying remarkable skill and teamwork. After intense rounds, four teams advanced to the final:

  • Ministry of Defence (93.06 points)
  • Ministry of Education (69.31 points)
  • Dubai Police (62.54 points)
  • Dubai Health (61.03 points)

Meanwhile, the Battle of the Government – Men saw competitors pushed to their limits in endurance and strength-based challenges. The top four finalists will be announced on Friday evening ahead of the grand finale on Sunday, 23 February.

Marwan bin Essa, Director of DUBAI GAMES, praised the participants' dedication, stating:

"DUBAI GAMES 2025 has started with incredible energy, showcasing teamwork, strategy, and competitiveness. We anticipate even more inspiring performances as the tournament progresses."

Fair Play and Enhanced Participation

Khalid Balhoul, Head of the Refereeing Committee, emphasized the event’s commitment to international officiating standards, ensuring fairness and accuracy. Additionally, streamlined registration has improved accessibility, with 26 women’s teams and 84 men’s teams joining the Battle of the Government.

With 244 teams across various categories and a prize pool exceeding AED 3.1 million, DUBAI GAMES 2025 continues to inspire an active lifestyle, reflecting Dubai’s ambition and resilience.
