The Dubai Government has announced a public holiday on Friday, September 5, 2025, to mark the birthday of Prophet Muhammad, allowing government employees to observe the occasion with their families. Official duties will resume on Monday, September 8.
The circular, issued by the Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DGHR), applies to all government entities, departments, and institutions. It aligns with the government’s guidelines on religious and national observances, aiming to promote unity and tolerance among employees.
DGHR noted that the holiday does not apply to organisations operating on shift schedules, essential public services, or critical facilities. These institutions will adjust work schedules as needed to ensure uninterrupted service delivery during the holiday.
In its announcement, DGHR extended greetings and best wishes to UAE leadership, members of the Federal Supreme Council, the rulers of the UAE, and all citizens and residents, praying for continued prosperity and blessings on this auspicious occasion.
