The Dubai Government Human Resources Department (DGHR) has launched the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Program in partnership with Emirates NBD and ESCP Business School, aiming to equip 29 Emirati finance leaders with advanced skills to drive sustainable economic growth and institutional excellence.

The initiative aligns with the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), which seeks to double the Emirate’s economy, enhance its global investment appeal, and strengthen its position as a financial and innovation hub.

H.E. Abdullah Ali Bin Zayed Al Falasi, Director General of DGHR, emphasized that the program goes beyond financial skills development by fostering strategic leadership capabilities essential for guiding institutions efficiently. He highlighted the program’s role in translating Dubai’s visionary leadership into actionable steps for building a knowledge-based, innovation-driven economy.

Hesham Abdulla Al Qassim, Vice Chairman and Managing Director of Emirates NBD Group, said the program supports the development of a robust pipeline of future financial leaders. By combining world-class knowledge, professional insights, and practical experiences, it contributes to advancing the UAE’s knowledge economy and reinforcing Dubai’s global financial standing.

Professor Léon Laulusa of ESCP Business School added that the collaboration brings together leading academics and practitioners to strengthen the skills of Dubai’s CFOs and finance executives, building on the school’s global rankings in finance and executive education.

The five-month intensive program includes interactive training, realistic financial simulations, field visits to leading institutions, career mentoring, and leadership discussions with global experts. Participants engage with five core pillars: strategic thinking, advanced financial management, business valuation, influential communication, and navigating global finance trends.

Through this initiative, DGHR reinforces its commitment to advancing national competencies, applying cutting-edge training methods, and enhancing Dubai’s competitiveness as a global hub for finance, entrepreneurship, and innovation.
