Dubai Health and GE HealthCare have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly enhance Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) education and clinical innovation across the UAE and the wider MENA region.

The partnership will also focus on developing advanced AI solutions aimed at improving diagnostics, clinical decision-making, and patient outcomes.

Through this collaboration, the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of Medicine and Health Sciences (MBRU) will be established as a POCUS Education Center of Excellence, positioning it as a leader in ultrasound training across the region. One of the key initiatives under the agreement is the launch of a structured Train-the-Trainer (TOT) programme. This initiative will equip certified facilitators and instructors to scale POCUS education, allowing for wider reach and sustainable expertise development.

Dubai Health Innovations will also work alongside GE HealthCare to co-develop and validate AI-powered solutions in areas such as radiology and computer vision. The goal is to improve diagnostic precision, streamline workflows, and enable earlier detection of medical conditions using advanced digital tools.

Dr. Hanan Al Suwaidi, Acting Chief Academic Officer of Dubai Health and Provost of MBRU, said:

“By building capacity in POCUS education and co-developing AI-powered solutions, we are empowering clinicians with next-generation technologies to improve patient outcomes.”

Konstantinos Deligiannis, President of GE HealthCare EAGM, added:

“By combining our advanced ultrasound technology with innovative AI solutions, we are committed to enhancing diagnostic accuracy and efficiency…”

The MoU, initially set for two years and renewable, highlights a long-term commitment to sustainable healthcare transformation in the region. Through initiatives rooted in continuous education, AI integration, and cross-sector collaboration, both entities aim to raise clinical standards and contribute to the UAE’s broader health innovation agenda.
