The Dubai Health Authority (DHA) and Dubai Airport Free Zone Authority (DAFZA) signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to provide high-quality preventive and curative primary health care services to the free zone community.
As part of the MoU, the DHA will provide comprehensive high-quality medical, preventive and curative services for the Dubai airport free zone community, through the primary health care clinic at DAFZA or at any of the DHA’s medical facilities.
His Excellency Humaid Al Qutami, Director General of the DHA and Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni, Director General of DAFZA signed the MoU on Wednesday at the DHA headquarters in Dubai in the presence of officials from both sides.
The MoU targets company and DAFZA employees, Dubai Government employees and service providers working at DAFZA to enhance their health and safety, in line with international standards of health care.
The DHA will also ensure the provision of healthcare professionals required to operate the clinic, five days a week from Sunday to Thursday for a period of seven hours per shift.
They will also ensure the provision of the required equipment and medication as well as the needed medical, nursing and laboratory supplies according to the latest standards and specifications approved by the DHA.
As part of the MoU, the Authority will also have the responsibility to fully supervise and secure the process of referring patients and injured persons to its hospitals and centres to complete their treatment.
The MoU stressed the importance of the role that DAFZA will play and its logistical support to facilitate the provision of the health care and medical services required.
Following the signing of the MoU, Al Qutami affirmed the DHA's keenness to strengthen its relationship and partnership with all institutions and bodies, whether it is to implement projects or initiatives, or provide health services.
He added that DAFZA is one of the most active and vital business centres in the world, and that the MoU represents an important opportunity for the DHA to serve this pioneering zone and all its employees and affiliates.
He stressed that DHA has the needed capabilities to expand the scope of its preventive and curative services and that the DHA will spare no effort in providing the best levels of health care to the free zone community.
Dr Al Zarooni, on the other hand said:
“This clinic in the Dubai Airport Free Zone complements our efforts to enhance the integrated system of services and the distinguished experience that the free zone provides to customers, which includes more than 1,700 international companies employing more than 17 thousand employees and workers."
"This clinic will ensure that we provide preventive and curative health care to the DAFZA community, which is in line with the objectives of the Dubai Health Strategy 2021 that aims to provide a safe and healthy work environment and develop health services in a way that establishes Dubai as a destination for medical tourism."
Al Zarouni expressed his gratitude to DHA employees for their efforts to protect society and maintain the health and safety of its members, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic, and for their distinguished cooperation during the various stages until the opening of the clinic in the heart of DAFZA.
