Dubai Health Authority (DHA) is set to showcase a range of services and initiatives aimed at empowering people of determination during the upcoming AccessAbilities Expo.
Among these, the "Psychological Wellbeing in Dubai" initiative, which is part of the broader Dubai Mental Wealth Strategy, will be a key highlight. This initiative aims to raise mental health awareness and support students of determination across the UAE, including those in special needs centres and private schools in Dubai.
Dr. Ramadan Al Blooshi, Advisor to the Director-General of DHA and Acting Director of Public Health Protection, emphasized the importance of mental wellbeing in enhancing the quality of life. He noted that the initiative focuses on promoting supportive environments, changing perceptions about mental health, and empowering families and healthcare providers to recognize and address mental health issues. Over the past period, DHA has conducted 67 workshops benefiting nearly 5,000 individuals, highlighting the community's positive reception.
In addition, DHA will present its Early Eye Health Screening Programme, targeting students from centres for people of determination and private schools in Dubai. This initiative aims to prevent eye diseases through early detection and encourage regular eye check-ups. The service is provided free of charge by a team of specialists and in collaboration with partners such as Al Jaber Optical Centres and Moorfields Eye Hospital Dubai.
