During GITEX Global 2024, the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) unveiled the "Enthar" early warning system, a cutting-edge initiative designed to detect infectious diseases using advanced artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.

This initiative aims to bolster the emirate's epidemic prevention framework and ensure the sustainability of public health security for the community.

"Enthar" will support health monitoring teams, risk assessment units, and health inspectors stationed at sea and land borders. It reflects DHA's commitment to proactive disease monitoring and epidemic detection, providing comprehensive risk assessments of potential threats to public health in Dubai.

Dr. Ramadan Ibrahim Al Blooshi, DHA's Advisor and Director of Public Health Protection, emphasized the system's strategic importance for reinforcing health security. He highlighted DHA's dedication to integrating state-of-the-art technologies to combat health threats and optimize critical information usage, enabling swift decision-making in health emergencies.

The system’s advanced capabilities include proficient analysis of multilingual and open-source data, allowing for real-time alerts on infectious diseases and monitoring of health risks. It compiles regular reports from epidemiologists worldwide, enhancing crisis response mechanisms.

Dr. Khaled Lootah, a Consultant in DHA’s Public Health Protection department, explained that "Enthar" employs sophisticated risk analysis tools to monitor health threats proactively. These tools assess various factors, including disease characteristics, historical data, media surveillance, and environmental variables.

With its ability to process vast volumes of information through direct API access, "Enthar" promises to deliver highly accurate and reliable periodic reports, significantly improving the efficiency of public health responses in Dubai.
