Dubai Health has been recognised as a national leader in organ donation, playing a pivotal role in the UAE’s healthcare advancements.

Through its collaboration with the National Centre for Regulating Donation and Transplantation of Human Organs and Tissues, and its commitment to the national programme Hayat, Dubai Health has facilitated over 200 organ transplants. This achievement was made possible by the selfless contributions of more than 65 donor families.

Rashid Hospital, Dubai Health’s flagship facility for trauma and emergency care, has emerged as the leading organ donation centre in the UAE. To support families in making informed decisions, a dedicated Hayat lounge has been established within the hospital, providing a private and supportive space for discussions on organ donation.

Dubai Health extends its specialised care to organ failure patients through kidney transplant surgeries and dialysis services at Dubai Hospital, Al Jalila Children's Hospital, and other centres. Since 2016, its expert surgeons have performed over 160 kidney transplants, including 54 for children.

Dr. Muna Tahlak, Chief Medical Officer of Dubai Health, praised the dedication of healthcare teams, stating,

"With the community's support, we are proud to be at the forefront of organ donation, offering hope and a second chance to many patients in need."

In alignment with its mission to improve healthcare access, Al Jalila Foundation recently launched the second edition of its Your Donation Saves Lives campaign, raising over AED 46 million to support more than 65 kidney failure patients. The campaign is accepting contributions through the A’awen programme, encouraging community involvement in life-saving initiatives.

With a continued focus on patient care, community education, and collaboration with national entities, Dubai Health remains steadfast in advancing the UAE’s organ donation and transplantation landscape, ensuring more lives are saved through medical innovation and collective generosity.
