Dubai Hosts 10th Annual World FZO World Congress with Stellar Lineup of Speakers

Dubai will once again be the epicenter of global trade and investment as it hosts the 10th edition of the World Free Zones Organization (World FZO) World Congress.

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, the Congress will take place from September 23-25 at the Madinat Jumeirah Conference and Events Centre.

This year’s Congress will bring together over 35 eminent speakers, including global experts, decision-makers, and investors. The event’s theme, “Zones and the Shifting Global Economic Structures – Unlocking New Investment Avenues,” will guide discussions on emerging technologies, innovations, and strategies to enhance the role of free zones in the global economy.

The agenda features a high-profile ‘Ministerial Meeting’ on the role of AI and new technologies in trade, with notable participants such as UAE Minister of State for Foreign Trade Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi and AfCFTA Secretary General Wamkele Mene. The Congress will also include the ‘Private Sector and Developers/Operators Meeting,’ ‘Special Economic Zones in BRICS Countries’ event, and the ‘Leadership Development Seminar.’

The second day will see a grand opening ceremony with keynote speeches from UAE Minister of Economy Abdullah Bin Touq Al Marri, former German Chancellor Gerhard Schröder, Siemens Chairman Jim Hagemann Snabe, and other distinguished figures. The Congress will feature five plenary and eight side stream sessions covering topics like logistics, finance, energy, manufacturing, and digital transformation. Notable speakers include Radu Dinescu, President of the International Road Transport Union, and Dr. Jean-Michel Mrusek, former CEO of Siemens Digital Factory.

World FZO Chairman Dr. Mohammed Al Zarooni emphasized the Congress’s role in reflecting Dubai’s pivotal position in global trade and its commitment to advancing economic growth and sustainability.

The Congress is set to be a vital platform for exploring new investment opportunities and addressing the future of free zones globally.
