The 13th Emirates Hematology Conference, which concluded today in Dubai, highlighted the crucial need for scientific research, international cooperation, and public awareness in the field of blood disease treatment.

The event, attended by over 500 physicians and specialists from 10 countries, aimed to address the latest breakthroughs in the diagnosis and treatment of blood disorders.

Asma Sultan Al Olama, President of the Emirates Society of Haematology and chairwoman of the conference, underscored the significance of the gathering, which featured more than 60 scientific abstracts. The conference focused on innovative treatments for blood cancers, lymphomas, and benign blood diseases, with an emphasis on advanced immunological and gene therapies.

Key discussions also centered on expanding the use of CAR-T cell immunotherapy, a revolutionary treatment that harnesses the power of the immune system to target and destroy cancerous cells. The event provided a platform for hematologists, oncologists, and healthcare professionals to collaborate on tackling the current challenges in hematology and to explore cutting-edge solutions aimed at improving patient outcomes.

Through its comprehensive sessions, the conference reinforced the importance of continuous medical education and international collaboration in advancing hematology. The three-day event not only offered valuable insights into emerging treatments but also stressed the need for enhanced public awareness to better address the complexities of blood diseases in the future.

This year’s conference marked a significant step forward in fostering the global exchange of knowledge and expertise in the fight against blood-related conditions.
