Dubai Hosts Global Freight Summit 2024 to Shape the Future of Trade
Dubai is set to host the Global Freight Summit 2024 this week, organized by DP World, bringing together global leaders from trade, logistics, business, and government to explore the future of freight and global trade.
The three-day event, held at the Dubai Exhibition Centre, Expo City from November 18–20, will attract over 10,000 industry leaders from more than 155 countries.
Key discussions will revolve around steering global trade toward prosperity, envisioning trade in 2050, and leveraging Artificial Intelligence (AI) for transformative change. The summit will also address pressing challenges, such as building sustainable supply chains and balancing global food demand and security.
Prominent speakers include Jim Yong Kim, 12th President of the World Bank, who will discuss strategies to boost global growth, and Tony Fernandes, founder of AirAsia, who will explore disruptive opportunities in the industry. H.S.H. Prince Michael von Lichtenstein will share insights on managing risk for long-term gains. Other notable participants include Jimmy Wales, Co-Founder of Wikipedia, and data scientist Rumman Chowdhury, alongside supply chain leaders from Maersk and Hapag-Lloyd.
Sultan Ahmed bin Sulayem, Group Chairman and CEO of DP World, emphasized the importance of collaboration and innovation:
