Dubai Hosts Inaugural Global Government Cloud Forum to Shape Future of Digital Innovation

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai, and His Highness Sheikh Mansoor bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Ports and Borders Security Council, the inaugural Global Government Cloud Forum was officially launched in Dubai.

Hosted by the Dubai Electronic Security Center (DESC) in collaboration with the World Bank Group, this groundbreaking event brings together over 500 industry experts and 200 government officials to shape the future of cloud computing.

The opening ceremony was attended by prominent figures including His Excellency Yousuf Al Shaibani, Chief Executive of DESC, Lieutenant General Talal Humaid Belhoul Al Falasi, and Roby Senderowitsch from the World Bank.

In his address, Al Shaibani highlighted the forum’s role in fostering global collaboration and accelerating digital innovation, reinforcing Dubai’s position as a global hub for technology.

The World Bank commended the UAE’s leadership in advancing cloud computing, noting its role in setting international standards for digital infrastructure. Roby Senderowitsch praised Dubai’s strategic initiatives and its commitment to integrating technology for sustainable development. The UAE’s efforts in establishing resilient cloud infrastructure were also recognized, enhancing its role as a regional tech leader.

The forum, which concluded with closing remarks from both DESC and World Bank representatives, emphasized the importance of government cloud solutions in enhancing public services worldwide. The event solidified Dubai’s status as a key player in global digital innovation, supported by partners such as du, Moro HUB, and the Investment Corporation of Dubai.
