Dubai witnessed the launch of a major medical event this morning as the 20th Annual Middle East Academy of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgery Conference commenced at the InterContinental Hotel.
In a pioneering regional first, the event coincides with the inaugural International Congress on Eustachian Canal Research and Intervention.
Bringing together 1,000 experts from 33 countries, this collaborative platform highlights the growing importance of ENT medicine in both clinical and surgical contexts. Organised by Info Plus, the conference offers a robust programme of presentations, workshops, and networking sessions.
Dr. Moaz Tarabichi, co-chair of the conference and head of the organising committee, described the event as a vital opportunity to explore the latest in ENT innovations and challenges. He emphasised the specialty’s evolution, noting its complexity and its broad relevance across age groups.
Dr. Latifa Al-Makouchi, President of the conference and Assistant Professor at King Saud University, opened the event by acknowledging Dr. Tarabichi’s foundational contributions to the academy. She welcomed over 150 renowned speakers from 30 countries and celebrated the selection of 30 top research papers by young otolaryngologists from 15 nations.
Dr. Latifa urged attendees to engage actively, exchange insights, and foster collaborations, calling the conference a celebration of global commitment to advancing ENT and head and neck surgery.
The scientific programme spans cutting-edge topics—from paediatric ENT and rhinoplasty to cochlear implants and balance disorders—alongside hands-on workshops like “Balance Man.”
The event concluded its opening with the honouring of distinguished physicians for their contributions to healthcare, followed by the inauguration of an exhibition featuring 25 leading pharmaceutical and medical device companies.
