Dubai is reinforcing its position as a leading global sports hub this December, hosting a concentrated lineup of international championships, elite competitions, and high-profile training camps that continue to attract top athletes and decision-makers from around the world.
Widely regarded as the peak of the emirate’s annual sports season, December features major events across marine sports, horse racing, combat sports, and both team and individual disciplines. This breadth of competition has strengthened Dubai’s appeal as a preferred year-end destination for international federations and world-class clubs.
Beyond tournaments, Dubai remains a sought-after base for winter training camps. International clubs and national teams are drawn by the emirate’s advanced infrastructure, world-class venues, and favourable climate, supported by integrated medical, technical, and logistical services.
The month’s calendar is anchored by several flagship events. The Global Sports Summit, scheduled for December 29 and 30, will bring together global sports leaders, investors, and policymakers to discuss industry trends, technology, and international partnerships. The Globe Soccer Awards will once again place Dubai at the centre of the global football spotlight, attracting elite players, coaches, and club executives. Meanwhile, the Emirates Airline Dubai Rugby Sevens continues to serve as a cornerstone of the international rugby calendar, drawing large global audiences.
December also marked the successful launch of the inaugural World Triathlon Women’s Cup Dubai 2025. Organised by the Dubai Sports Council under the supervision of the International Triathlon Union, the event highlights the emirate’s commitment to sports development and women’s empowerment.
Officials have reiterated Dubai’s proven capability to host international events to the highest global standards, aligning with its long-term strategy to remain a definitive global sports capital.
